These SEOs fail to adapt to the new Web 2.0 media environment and attempt to apply rules of the older Web to the new situation. If you intend on doing this on your own, then keep in mind that you need to really study and understand your target market. to encourage some self reflection of the people in the SEO business.
Research and reading about social media can be quite valuable, but nothing is as good as first-hand experience. Experience is the best teacher.
When SEO tactics are over-used, they may end up harming rather than benefiting. Make sure you use SEO tactfully so as to maintain your readers’ loyalty without compromising quality. Many weary business owners have been burned by SEO firms who promise the world and then never REAL results.
If you recognize yourself in some of these qualities take a step forward and change your approach to social media.
- SEOs love to automate
- SEOs are treating social book marking
- SEOs start yelling at people instead of listening
- SEOs concentrate on bling and fetishes not actual results
- SEOs obsess about numbers instead of value/s
- SEOs don’t get design
Many SEOs do not give away anything that matters to others. They want to take without giving. If they take, they take for themselves. Social media is all about giving. Many people assume that giving and sharing is the only acceptable way to act on social media.
These are the mistakes people are making on the Web. Not only SEOs do them, I see plenty of people outside of SEO doing that. So just take a look at what you do online and then do not these mistakes again.
There is no point building a Social Media profile that people may not find. It must be built from the ground up based on a clear understanding of the message to be conveyed, and using every technique available to make it search engine friendly.
